Sister Organizations.

Boalt Organizations

ELQ is the heart of the environmental law student community at Boalt, but is by no means alone in the field. Our mission is complimented by the following organizations with whom we share a common events calendar.

Environmental Law Society

An organization of student activists at Boalt who are interested in the intersection of environmental law and social justice.

Center for Law, Energy & the Environment

A research center at the UC Berkeley School of Law, CLEE’s mission is to foster interdisciplinary environmental law and policy research and to translate that research into pragmatic solutions.

Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative

A truly interdisciplinary group focused on shaping the future of energy, BERC has an active chapter on the Boalt campus.

Law Students for Environmental & Economic Justice

Law Students for Environmental & Economic Justice is dedicated to the just distribution of environmental benefits to, and the amelioration of environmental harms concentrated in, communities of color and low-income communities. We are committed to the strategic use of legal tools to strengthen grassroots organizing and to build community power. We work to:

(1) Create practice opportunities and provide a training space for students, as well as build relationships with community-based organizations, to form movement-building partnerships.
(2) Support the development of just forms of community/economic development, including models that build community wealth, support worker ownership, and create "green" jobs.
(3) Foster an activist community among advocates whose interests intersect with environmental and economic justice.
(4) Promote and maintain environmental justice curricular and research opportunities at Boalt.
